Pantry ingredients: Cream of Tartar

I was browsing through my readers digest book today for a scone recipe. The ingredient list called for cream of tartar which is not something I come across often so decided to look up. I could explain this myself but the site I read gave an excellent description and I didn’t feel the need to “reinvent the wheel” so here is the following link:
